National Cat Lover Day (1st Dec 2022)

Hi guys,

Happy National Cat Lover Day! If you have been following my Facebook and Instagram, on Thursday I celebrated National Cat Lover day with a few photos of cat drawings through the years and a little story of how I persuaded my Mum to let me have a cat.

For those of you who don't have social media, here's what I wrote:

'If anyone knows me, they’d definitely know that I adore cats! I’ve grown up with cats as a child after begging and begging for one. It was either a cat or stick insects that the school teacher wanted to get rid of Mum didn’t like the thought of insects around the house,, so a cat it was!'

The photos below show colour pencil drawings and one in coloured pen.

Why do we have certain days in the year to celebrate certain animals?

I think as humans on this planet, we should be protecting and caring for pets and wildlife. I really believe that we are meant to look after the natural world from our own destruction, as it's only us destroying it.

So with little days like these celebrating various animals, it reminds us that there are pets that need loving homes and fantastic shelters, big and small, going above and beyond. Especially now with cost of living being so high! Every little thing helps, such as donating pet food, stacking up loyalty points for charities at Pets at Home or volunteering.

I've included a photo of my kitcat, Inky below. She's given us so much joy, love and loads of hilarious, quirky moments. (Please excuse the messy bed haha!)

Do you have any funny stories of how you got your pets? Write a comment below as I'd love to read them.

Till Next week!
